SAN DIEGO (Friday, Jan. 3, 2025) – San Diego FC (SDFC) is proud to announce a partnership with ALBION to deepen both Club’s commitment to youth development in San Diego County and to introduce Major League Soccer to the ALBION community.
ALBION has been operating in San Diego County since 1981 and currently has one of the largest youth soccer clubs in the United States, with more than 25 clubs playing under the ALBION banner. ALBION, a model youth soccer club, has a deep history of player development and success on and off the field. ALBION is greatly improving the soccer landscape on many fronts and playing a major role in player and coach development nationwide. Over the years, ALBION has developed many players that have played in MLS with many still playing today.
“ALBION is a soccer-centric player development-first club that prioritizes high standards, player development, clear player pathway to the top, and excellent coaching, all while fostering the love of the game,” said CEO of ALBION Noah Gins. “We want to bring our passion and our collective spirit to SDFC. We can’t wait to celebrate soccer at Snapdragon this spring and showcase ALBION around the stadium!”
As SDFC kicks off its inaugural season in MLS in 2025, this partnership greatly benefits both Club’s long-standing passion for the game in San Diego County, which is widely known as a hotbed for players, fans and fan engagement.
“In discussing our partnership, it was clear that ALBION was very aligned with our ambitions and our commitment to innovation. We see a great partnership that will truly benefit all parties,” said Bill Miles, COO of SDFC and Executive Director of SDFC’s Right to Dream Academy. “We look forward to working closely with ALBION in 2025 and for many years to come.”
SDFC’s objective is to support ALBION with programming that enhances ALBION’s strengths and provides increased opportunities for players and families to experience the game. SDFC and ALBION will be in touch with their communities soon with more details about the partnership.
Both Clubs look forward to growing the game in San Diego and beyond. Please join SDFC in 2025 at Snapdragon Stadium to celebrate SDFC’s historical inaugural season! To check out SDFC’s 2025 schedule, please visit SanDiegoFC.com/schedule.
